Base Salary
$160k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead complex forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption.
- Architect custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows.
- Design application patterns connecting Maybern’s platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes.
- Build evaluation, control, and validation frameworks for high-stakes outputs.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers on the Forward Deployed Engineering team.
- Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure.
- Define standards, technical direction, tooling, and operating practices for the function.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, applied research, or forward-deployed technical work with significant ownership.
- Strong record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives.
- Deep strength in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture.
- Strong applied AI or ML experience, including evaluation, reliability, and real-world deployment.
- Deep quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with the Snowflake AI Data Platform is preferred but not required.
- Experience with finance, capital markets, enterprise decision systems, optimization, probabilistic systems, simulation engines, mathematical modeling, formal verification, theorem proving, formal methods, or machine-checkable logic is advantageous.
- Experience turning bespoke customer systems into reusable product or platform primitives and mentoring engineers is preferred.
- Private markets experience is a bonus.
