Base Salary
$155k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the production reliability of designated cloud systems and transition them from reactive support to proactive automation, optimization, and stability.
- Investigate, design, test, deploy, and support cloud platform components covering networking, applications, security, resilience, logging, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Design and manage scalable cloud network topologies including transit gateways, VPCs, subnets, security groups, and route tables.
- Design and maintain automated infrastructure-as-code delivery pipelines for repeatable and secure deployments.
- Provide technical guidance on deployment patterns, security controls, and cost optimization while collaborating with Principal and Staff Engineers.
- Contribute hands-on technical work approximately 80% of the time and spend approximately 20% mentoring, coordinating, and supporting operations.
- Serve as a second escalation point for complex incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement long-term systemic fixes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in cloud operations or DevOps managing production workloads in mission-critical environments.
- Advanced proficiency with AWS services including EC2, VPC, and IAM, plus CloudFormation or Terraform and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Deep understanding of VPC design, subnetting, Route53, PrivateLink, and related AWS technologies, including troubleshooting across multi-account or hybrid on-premises/cloud environments.
- Proficiency in one or more software languages such as Node.js or Python.
- Strong experience with observability stacks such as Splunk, DataDog, or CloudWatch, including logging, tracing, and metrics tuning.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a DoD NIPR network account and Common Access Card.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Must travel quarterly to Product Increment planning.
- Preferred qualifications include Denver-area residence, experience in DoD, Air Force, or federal contractor environments, and Solutions Architect, CloudOps, DevOps, or similar AWS certification.
