Responsibilities
- Design and manage Elasticsearch indices, mappings, shard strategies, replicas, and ILM policies.
- Develop and optimize Elasticsearch Query DSL searches, aggregations, and search performance.
- Build Logstash pipelines for ingestion, transformation, enrichment, filtering, and routing.
- Integrate data from Elastic Agent, Beats, Fluent, Syslog, Kafka, and application log streams.
- Develop Kibana dashboards, visualizations, reports, and alerting solutions.
- Configure RBAC, spaces, security policies, TLS, authentication, SSO, and API keys.
- Deploy and operate Elastic Stack components using Docker, Kubernetes, ECK, and Helm.
- Monitor cluster health, storage, ingestion performance, search efficiency, and node health.
- Troubleshoot indexing, ingestion, dashboard, platform, and production incidents.
- Support upgrades, deployment validation, rollback, release management, root cause analysis, and technical documentation.
- Participate in production support and on-call activities.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of relevant Elastic Stack engineering experience and 5 years of total experience are required.
- Strong experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, mappings, analyzers, Query DSL, aggregations, shard sizing, replicas, and ILM.
- Hands-on experience with Logstash pipelines, Grok, Dissect, filtering, and data transformation.
- Experience with Kibana dashboards, visualizations, reports, alerts, Elastic Agent, Filebeat, Metricbeat, Fluent, or Fluent Bit.
- Experience deploying and operating Elastic Stack on Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of JSON, regular expressions, structured logging, and data ingestion concepts.
- Scripting experience with Bash or Python.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, production support, and incident resolution.
- Preferred experience includes OTT, streaming, broadcast, digital media, Elastic APM, distributed tracing, Painless, ingest pipelines, runtime fields, Kafka, CCS, CCR, snapshot and restore, disaster recovery, Amazon OpenSearch Service, Elastic Security, SIEM, threat monitoring, Terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation, Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, and ITSM processes.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
