Base Salary
$147k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable software systems and infrastructure on top of LLMs.
- Design, implement, and iterate on systems and algorithms for retrieving high-value content.
- Define and extract quality signals and build evaluation models.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and research teams across NotebookLM, Play Books, Core Data, and Search.
- Maintain code quality, system reliability, engineering best practices, and documentation.
- Navigate ambiguity and contribute to a rapidly growing initiative.
- Discuss knowledge and use of AI tools during the hiring process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience in C++ and Java.
- Experience with information retrieval, search infrastructure, ranking systems, data quality, or signal extraction for content evaluation.
- Experience in front-end web development with TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies.
- Artificial intelligence fluency and familiarity with AI tools.
