Responsibilities
- Own the architecture of client-facing quote, pricing, trade initiation, status, and settlement flows across GUI, API, and conversational AI.
- Design frontend state management, data-fetching patterns, exception handling, retries, and client-server data synchronization.
- Improve frontend rendering efficiency, load times, reliability, and stability under frequent updates and peak usage.
- Build and extend APIs, schemas, queries, and data models, delivering features end-to-end across the frontend and backend.
- Instrument client flows for error rates, completion, latency, observability, and early problem detection.
- Partner with Product, Design, Operations, and backend engineers on product flows, API contracts, prioritization, adoption, and delivery.
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers, contribute code reviews and design feedback, and drive engineering-excellence and technical-debt work to closure.
- Participate in on-call and incident response, and convert post-mortem findings into durable fixes.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of experience building production web applications, with most experience focused on frontend development.
- Experience at a trading company, exchange, or brokerage building client-facing systems on a live trade or order path.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and React, with strong command of Redux or equivalent state management.
- Hands-on experience with server-side rendering, code splitting, frontend architecture, asynchronous systems, automated frontend testing, and performance optimization.
- Working backend proficiency with CRUD and REST APIs, PostgreSQL schemas and queries, and a Next.js, Hono, or similar server runtime.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and low-level design patterns.
- Ability to turn ambiguous problems into scoped and sequenced deliverables, demonstrate high agency, communicate clearly in an async environment, and use AI coding tools effectively.
- Preferred experience includes real-time financial surfaces, complex financial dashboards, reconciliation or transaction-history systems, FX, multi-currency or cross-border payments, frontend testing, observability, monitoring, and shared design systems or component libraries.
