Responsibilities

  • Lead the data quality engineering team and own data correctness across Talos.
  • Continuously validate REST and WebSocket APIs, cloud delivery, environments, and client entitlements against independent sources of truth.
  • Design checks for streaming ordering, gap detection, snapshot-to-increment consistency, reconnect and replay behavior, subscription staleness, and REST/WebSocket agreement.
  • Build adaptive detection with endpoint- and market-specific baselines instead of static thresholds.
  • Apply LLM and agentic tooling to generate and maintain checks from API specifications and schemas and triage alerts.
  • Design load, performance, resilience, and failure-mode tests for distributed systems.
  • Drive discovered faults to resolution and add regression checks that would have detected them earlier.
  • Measure and publish endpoint and field coverage, time to detect, detected-before-client rate, and false-positive rate.
  • Run data governance, including data asset and API catalogs, lineage, ownership, and downstream-consumer analysis.
  • Own governance tooling such as OpenMetadata.
  • Lead and operate the security master platform, including listings, venue symbol mapping, contract specifications, safe updates, validation, and rollback.
  • Expand data quality coverage to trade signals, pre-trade analytics, client post-trade analysis, and PMS analytics.

Requirements

  • Track record leading data QA or data quality teams, preferably for market data or other high-throughput real-time data.
  • Deep understanding of streaming and API behavior, including throughput, WebSocket semantics, ordering, recovery, and failure modes.
  • Experience inventorying and testing a large API and data surface end to end.
  • Hands-on experience with data governance, cataloging, lineage, and ownership.
  • Experience with performance and load testing of distributed systems.
  • Strong engineering background building platforms on shared infrastructure rather than one-off scripts.
  • Practical experience applying LLM and agentic tooling to engineering problems.
  • Experience with Flink, Doris, Dagster, Spark, OpenMetadata, or comparable tools such as Apache Atlas.

Benefits

  • Retirement plan contributions.
  • Unlimited vacation plus a $2,000 USD PTO bonus for employees taking 15 vacation days, including 5 consecutive days.
  • Yearly discretionary cash bonus and employee stock options plan.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid parental leave for 20 weeks after one year of service.
  • Global offsites and team outings.
  • One-time stipend for at-home office setup.
  • $50 monthly wellness credit.
  • $25 USD lunch credit for in-office days, catered Tuesday lunches, snacks, and drinks.
  • Donation matching up to $100 USD annually.
  • Hybrid-friendly environment with globally distributed hubs in New York, London, Singapore, and Cyprus.
