Responsibilities
- Design and implement agentic AI workflows for classification, summarization, enrichment, and intelligent routing of lessons-learned data.
- Develop and integrate AI/ML capabilities within MSS Foundry applications and supporting mission systems.
- Build and maintain production-grade APIs and services connecting AI capabilities with Foundry applications, data platforms, and external systems.
- Use Databricks MLOps capabilities, MLflow, and Databricks Workflows for model lifecycle management, orchestration, experimentation, and deployment.
- Automate model validation, evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement processes.
- Design scalable AI/ML solutions for reliable production operation.
- Integrate structured and unstructured data sources into AI-enabled mission workflows.
- Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, mission stakeholders, and technical teams to translate operational requirements into AI/ML solutions.
- Monitor production AI/ML systems and troubleshoot performance, reliability, and integration issues.
- Apply responsible AI, security, data governance, and model management practices in secure DoD environments.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret SCI security clearance is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- At least five years of experience in machine learning, AI engineering, software engineering, or a related technical field is required; the posting also states seven years of related work experience.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning or AI solutions in production environments.
- Experience developing AI/ML APIs, services, or application integrations.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and libraries.
- Experience with MLOps, machine learning lifecycle management, and production AI/ML workflow orchestration and monitoring.
- Experience with Databricks, including MLflow and/or Databricks Workflows.
- Strong understanding of model evaluation, validation, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Preferred experience includes Palantir Foundry or MSS Foundry, AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM-powered applications, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and generative AI technologies.
- Preferred experience includes Databricks Model Serving, Feature Engineering, MLflow, Unity Catalog, microservices, and cloud-native application architectures.
- Experience supporting Joint Staff or DoD operational missions and familiarity with DoD AI/ML governance, responsible AI, data security, and compliance requirements are preferred.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in AI/ML, data science, cloud, or related technical disciplines are preferred.
