
Senior Software Engineer - Java, Officer
State StreetResponsibilities
- Architect and develop enterprise and cloud-native applications for Front Office Order and Execution Management systems.
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement software using Java, C#, React, SQL, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Lead technical problem solving for transactional, concurrent, event-driven applications and major project phases.
- Provide architecture guidance, code review analysis, troubleshooting support, and customer implementation assistance.
- Write unit and automated tests, conduct manual testing, and improve development test methodologies and frameworks.
- Create design, API, and customer documentation.
- Coordinate cross-team activities and participate in or drive Scrum rituals.
- Mentor engineers and support onboarding of new team members.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience, including at least 5 years at a Senior Engineer level.
- At least 8 years of Java development experience.
- At least 5 years designing and developing highly transactional, concurrent, event-driven systems.
- At least 5 years of cloud-native application development, preferably on Microsoft Azure.
- At least 5 years working with an Agile development methodology.
- Demonstrated experience with Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, Azure Service Bus or RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Redis, and cloud databases.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, compiler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, scripting, and advanced programming languages.
- Experience with SQL Server and Postgres; Oracle and Exadata experience is preferred.
- Experience with Cosmos, MongoDB, Snowflake, or other database management systems is strongly desired.
- Experience with observability and telemetry tools such as Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- UI development experience with .NET/C#, React, and JavaScript is strongly desired.
- Financial services experience in portfolio management, trading, order management, compliance, post-trade, IBOR, or wealth management is strongly desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, solution-complexity management, and cross-team leadership skills.
