Responsibilities
- Define and evolve enterprise observability and AIOps strategy, architecture principles, target architecture, and roadmap.
- Lead end-to-end Splunk platform architecture, covering scalability, resilience, security, performance, lifecycle management, deployment, indexing, search, clustering, and disaster recovery.
- Define telemetry, data-ingestion, integration, and coexistence patterns across applications, infrastructure, public and hybrid cloud, networks, and service management.
- Own observability architecture governance through high-level designs, reference architectures, standards, design decisions, and assurance.
- Advise senior technology, operations, and business stakeholders and translate complex challenges into architectural decisions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, engage vendors, mentor others, and build alignment across architecture, engineering, operations, security, and service management.
- Define the use of AIOps, Generative AI, AI assistants, anomaly detection, and intelligent operational workflows for observability and incident management.
Requirements
- Strong track record defining observability strategies and architectures for complex enterprise-scale environments.
- Deep Splunk architecture expertise, including enterprise on-premises, cloud, or hybrid deployments and Splunk IT Service Intelligence.
- Experience with telemetry, service-centric monitoring, SLOs, SLIs, topology, event management, operational analytics, experience monitoring, and service health.
- Ability to produce implementation-ready high-level designs and provide technical authority throughout delivery.
- Experience establishing architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, governance, and roadmap adoption.
- Executive-level communication, architecture writing, visual communication, advisory, influencing, mentoring, and stakeholder-alignment skills.
- Strong understanding of ITIL, ITSM, Service Operations, ServiceNow, public and hybrid cloud, platform engineering, OpenTelemetry, automation, Infrastructure as Code, and modern engineering practices.
- Knowledge of AI-powered operations, operational intelligence, event correlation, anomaly detection, Generative AI, and intelligent operational workflows.
