Responsibilities
- Lead a QA team and enforce testing strategy, guidelines, standards, and approved engineering frameworks.
- Design and implement modular, scalable automation frameworks aligned with engineering and architectural standards.
- Develop Cucumber-based BDD automation using standardized testing frameworks.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and establish deterministic quality gates for code changes.
- Analyze test failures, improve signal quality, and provide actionable diagnostics.
- Drive test data management, environment readiness, and observability for reliable automation execution.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to shape requirements and define acceptance criteria.
- Apply engineering-led quality practices aligned with SDLC, risk controls, and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- 6+ years of IT testing experience.
- Excellent knowledge of software testing techniques and testing tools.
- Knowledge of a recognized software development and testing lifecycle methodology.
- Communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
- Experience building automation frameworks with TypeScript or JavaScript on Node.js.
- Hands-on expertise with Playwright for TypeScript or JavaScript, including fixtures, parallel execution, tracing, and deterministic test design.
- Proficiency with Cucumber-JS for BDD workflows, including step definitions, hooks, data strategies, and integration.
- Strong experience building Java automation frameworks using old and modern JDKs and maintainable design patterns.
- Proficiency with Cucumber-Java, including step-definition architecture, dependency injection, and parallel execution strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for Java UI automation, including grid execution, stability patterns, and cross-browser coverage.
- Familiarity with Playwright for Java and its driver model, feature parity, and Java integration.
- Strong experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Tekton Tasks, Pipelines, triggers, and event-driven execution.
- Familiarity with Harness pipeline orchestration, approvals, quality gates, artifact promotion, and release controls.
- Proficiency using Docker to containerize automation workloads in OpenShift, including pods, routes, config maps, and secrets.
- Strong shell scripting skills for pipeline automation, environment setup, debugging, log analysis, and operational tooling.
- Ability to troubleshoot CI/CD failures across containers, pipelines, and cluster-based execution.
- Bachelor’s or university degree required; master’s degree preferred.
