Senior Software Engineer
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain resilient and scalable features across Toast’s enterprise management products.
- Lead complex projects that improve customer functionality and reliability.
- Partner with teams across Toast and collaborate with UX and Product Management on feature definition and design.
- Build automated tests to ensure software quality.
- Roll out features to customers and monitor their success.
- Mentor and coach other engineers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building backend services and APIs.
- Extensive experience with an object-oriented language such as Java or Kotlin, including a deep understanding of testing, quality, and engineering best practices.
- Experience shipping production services and balancing delivery speed with platform stability and reliability.
- Experience building backend services and APIs and scaling distributed systems.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree is preferred.
- Android application development with Kotlin is a plus.
- Strong customer focus, teamwork, and cross-team communication skills on complex technical topics.
