Responsibilities
- Own the design and multi-quarter delivery of Vanta’s enterprise organizational model.
- Define core platform abstractions for diverse and conflicting enterprise requirements.
- Design safe migration paths from the existing production system to a multi-tenant organizational structure.
- Deliver meaningful customer value incrementally while progressing toward the full architecture.
- Drive alignment and execution across squads outside the direct team.
- Partner with Engineering leadership, Product, and Design to translate the technical vision into phased deliverables.
- Set technical standards and shape architecture across teams.
Requirements
- 15+ years of deep backend engineering experience and a track record leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives.
- Experience designing platform abstractions that address general enterprise requirements rather than one-off customer needs.
- Demonstrated ability to ship large, structurally complex initiatives in incremental stages.
- Experience influencing and aligning teams without direct reporting authority.
- Deep familiarity with tenancy models, role-based access control, data isolation, scoped permissions, cross-tenant operations, and access boundary design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and customer-facing stakeholders.
- Data residency or GovCloud exposure is preferred.
- Openness to using AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
