Intermediate Backend Engineer, Platform Readiness

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain agentic workflow components on the Duo Agent Platform, including the Core Agentic Workflow and Requirements Agent
  • Write tests, documentation, and evaluations for agentic workflow behavior
  • Add platform requirements, evolve the requirements schema, and improve validation tooling
  • Build integrations across issues, merge requests, design documents, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Data, platform, and feature teams to create platform-readiness artifacts and domain skills
  • Document and evaluate agentic workflow behavior to improve assessment accuracy

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of backend-focused software engineering experience
  • Proficiency in TypeScript/Node, Python, or Golang
  • Comfort reading and contributing to YAML, JSON Schema, and other structured content
  • Operational exposure to Kubernetes and the ability to reason about failure modes
  • Experience with or exposure to LLM APIs, prompts, or agentic frameworks
  • Clear written communication and ability to work asynchronously
  • Ruby familiarity is highly valued
  • GitLab-style development workflow experience, open source contributions, and interest in developer experience or platform engineering are valued
  • Hands-on experience with agentic workflow frameworks such as DAP or LangGraph, structured requirements or specification bodies, evolving schemas, and observability are strong pluses
