Responsibilities
- Develop reusable components and services for Citi’s fixed-income trading platform.
- Design and implement high-performance, low-latency multi-tier Java/JEE applications.
- Drive architecture, service decomposition, and the technical strategy and roadmap.
- Improve automated CI/CD pipelines and support faster delivery.
- Ensure component reliability, scalability, performance, failover, and recovery readiness.
- Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, analysts, users, and management to identify solutions.
- Provide third-line support during core trading hours.
- Mentor and lead technical teams, evaluate delivery, delegate work, and promote high-quality output.
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, testing, and best-in-class business solutions.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience designing and implementing multi-tier applications and performance-sensitive Java/JEE applications.
- Strong knowledge of a project management methodology, systems lifecycle phases, troubleshooting, performance tuning, messaging, failover design, recovery planning, and project risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, influencing, negotiation, planning, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Java and experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, gRPC, ECS, Mongo, JUnit, and SQL/PLSQL.
- Knowledge of Java performance tuning, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Gradle, Splunk, and Prometheus.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and TeamCity, uDeploy, Jenkins, and SonarQube.
- Experience with design patterns, coding standards, code review, unit testing, JUnit, and Mockito.
- Knowledge of fixed-income markets and products is desirable.
- Graduation or post-graduation qualifications in Computer Engineering or another engineering stream, with a strong academic record and desirable analytical and quantitative skills.
