Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain ERP data connectors, storage, availability, security, and related improvements.
- Own the reliability and scalability of large-scale email processing systems handling tens of millions of accounts and hundreds of millions of daily emails.
- Design email systems around IMAP, SMTP, rate limits, proxy strategies, provider constraints, Redis, MySQL, and messaging systems.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and serve as a liaison between business and engineering teams.
- Implement and upgrade backend APIs, maintain existing services, and build foundational components.
- Lead architecture, service governance, iterative upgrades, deployment improvements, and reliability initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the United States, Singapore, India, and China.
- Lead small engineering initiatives and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 institution.
- 12+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and advanced algorithms.
- Excellent proficiency in Python, Go, or Java, with Python preferred.
- Experience with messaging platforms and relational or NoSQL datastores.
- Experience architecting and developing large-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with microservice architecture, API gateway patterns, and observability through logging, tracing, and metrics.
- Experience building and operating high-performance, high-availability systems with strict latency and reliability requirements in 24/7 environments.
- Experience with self-recoverable architectures and container or virtual-machine orchestration platforms.
- Strong backend and cloud architecture expertise across Go, Python, Java, Node.js, AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Ability to analyze and abstract complex business logic, deliver independently, collaborate effectively, and explain technical concepts and organization-wide strategies to engineers, partners, and executives.
- Experience leading small engineering initiatives or mentoring junior developers.
- Preferred experience with gRPC, Protobuf, and Thrift.
- Preferred knowledge of security best practices, authentication and authorization, performance tuning, AI agent or harness concepts, and DevOps practices.
