Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve scalable backend services supporting order intake, validation, execution, status updates, and post-trade processing.
- Develop reliable, observable, latency-sensitive services using Kotlin, Java, and Spring Boot in a distributed, event-driven environment.
- Design integrations with internal platforms and external trading venues for robust processing of time-sensitive financial data.
- Contribute to architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement from idea through production.
- Improve platform correctness, performance, availability, security, auditability, reliability, automation, observability, developer experience, and operational processes.
- Collaborate with product, operations, risk, and engineering stakeholders to model complex trading workflows and APIs.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Strong professional experience building production backend services with Kotlin or Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven, high-availability systems with clear API and service boundaries.
- Solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design and modeling complex business workflows and lifecycle-driven processes.
- Experience with latency-sensitive, high-throughput systems, including performance analysis, monitoring, capacity planning, and failure-mode design.
- Experience designing, operating, and optimizing persistence for backend services using relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
- Strong engineering-quality mindset focused on clean, secure, testable, documented, maintainable code and production service ownership.
- Familiarity with cloud-native development and operations, ideally including AWS, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and observability tooling.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for working with engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Experience with financial-market systems requiring strict operational controls and auditability is a strong plus.
