Responsibilities
- Research, design, and build the bespoke distributed graph execution engine in Rust.
- Design and implement graph executor nodes supporting third-party partner and supplier integrations.
- Build and maintain deployment pipelines, observability, and infrastructure for the distributed execution engine.
- Design coordination and fault-tolerance mechanisms for partial failures, node coordination, recovery, and task takeover.
- Develop and maintain logistics and ETL workflows tied to the core sourcing platform.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend development experience.
- 3+ years of professional Rust experience.
- Strong practical experience designing or implementing distributed-systems coordination mechanisms.
- Familiarity with areas such as graph theory, type theory, parsers and compilers, and related computer-science fundamentals.
- Real-world DevOps experience.
- Experience with C or C++ before moving to Rust is a plus.
- Experience with key-value stores or distributed databases such as FoundationDB or TiKV is a plus.
- Frontend web-development experience is a plus.
- Experience with workflow tools such as n8n, Prefect, or AWS Step Functions is a plus.
- Understanding of WASM runtimes and experience with logistics or process-management systems are beneficial.
Benefits
- Full-time employment at approximately 40 hours per week.
- Hybrid work in the Berlin/Wildau area with one office day per week.
- Fully remote work elsewhere within approximately 4–5 hours of Berlin, with no office requirement.
- Employment is available through official employment in Germany or a B2B contract elsewhere in Europe.
- Meaningful overlap with CEST working hours is expected.
