Responsibilities
- Invent algorithms for MAC scheduling, resource allocation, link adaptation, interference management, spectrum coordination, latency, and fairness.
- Define tractable problems from ambiguous performance issues and determine which problems are worth solving.
- Use simulations, offline analysis, and field data to validate algorithm ideas before implementation.
- Design robust algorithms that operate reliably across varied conditions and difficult edge cases.
- Write production C++ and support integration, field validation, and real-world deployment.
- Analyze field anomalies, customer-reported issues, telemetry, and network-scale performance data.
- Evaluate machine learning approaches within embedded, real-time constraints.
- Review designs and code, collaborate with systems engineering, DSP, and field teams, and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience designing wireless-system algorithms, including significant ownership of scheduler, resource allocation, link adaptation, or related production functionality.
- Master of Science or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of wireless communications, including OFDM, MIMO, beamforming, and interference modeling.
- Understanding of optimization, estimation, probability, and practical tradeoffs between theoretical models and deployed hardware.
- Strong production-level C++ experience on Linux, including independently implementing complex designs and conducting code reviews.
- Proficiency with simulation and data-analysis tools such as Python and MATLAB or equivalent.
- Track record of developing and shipping innovative solutions with measurable real-world results.
- Extensive hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in engineering environments.
- Preferred: experience with multi-core embedded platforms, real-time constraints, on-device inference, wireless machine learning, large-scale field telemetry, 3GPP, 802.11, scheduling, or interference coordination.
- Preferred: experience building reusable agent workflows, skills, or team productivity tooling.
