Base Salary
$211k - $305k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and test BIOS, BSP, diagnostics, kernel software, and user-space device drivers for Cisco routing products.
- Develop device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals using interfaces and protocols such as I2C, MDIO, SPI, UART, PCIe, and GPIO.
- Create and execute software test plans and collaborate on prototype debugging, validation, and defect resolution.
- Lead board bring-up, embedded-system validation, technical reviews, system design, specification writing, and requirements reviews.
- Guide software development from concept through delivery for large-scale, high-bandwidth systems and mentor engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 12+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with Sonic, ONIE, BMC, IPMI, and Redfish.
- Strong hardware, embedded software, Linux hardware bring-up, and device-driver development experience.
- Expertise in multithreading, event handling, state machines, kernel debugging, GDB, and KGDB.
- Knowledge of Layer 2/3 network protocols, network processors, optical networking, secure boot, open-source tools, CMIS, and SFF standards such as SFP and QSFP is desired.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, communication, software-quality, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
- AI/ML experience is desired.

- The listed starting salary range for U.S. and/or Canada locations is $210,600.00 to $305,100.00, excluding incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
