Base Salary

$187k - $268k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop BIOS, BSP, and diagnostics for Cisco Core and Edge routing products.
  • Design, develop, and test kernel and user-space device drivers for FPGA and networking peripherals.
  • Develop and execute software test plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug prototypes and validate software.
  • Lead technical reviews and discussions across teams.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software defects from kernel modules through applications.
  • Contribute to system design, specifications, requirements reviews, mentoring, and software quality processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience programming in C, C++, and Python.
  • Hardware and device-driver development experience, including Linux hardware bring-up.
  • Experience with Sonic, ONIE, BMC, IPMI, and/or Redfish.
  • Experience developing, debugging, and validating embedded systems and device drivers using protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, and/or GPIO.
  • Proficiency with kernel debugging tools such as GDB and KGDB.
  • Experience developing software from concept through delivery for large-scale, high-bandwidth systems.
  • Experience with network processors, optical networking, AI/ML, secure boot, open-source tools, CMIS, and SFF standards such as SFP and QSFP is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Layer 2/3 network protocols and strong troubleshooting, debugging, communication, and software quality skills.

Benefits

  • The posted starting salary range is $186,900.00 to $267,700.00, excluding incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
