Base Salary
$155k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to gather requirements, design features, write software, and create design documents and test plans.
- Bring up and maintain a stable operating platform for next-generation fixed wireless access products.
- Provide platform software expertise to application developers building a stable, high-performance product.
- Validate functionality in the lab, reproduce and debug issues, set up and automate tests, and provide software support.
- Investigate component and hardware issues using datasheets, reference boards, supplier FAEs, and lab equipment, and use findings to improve designs.
- Support manufacturing and operations with alternate-part qualification, bill-of-material updates, and component pre-provisioning.
- Own large features from conception through delivery and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering, MS preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 9 years of C/C++ embedded systems development experience.
- Expert knowledge of Linux/RTOS platform development in modern multi-core ARM processor-based embedded systems.
- Technical leadership skills and a demonstrated history of owning large features from conception to delivery.
- Ability to write scripts and automate tasks with Python and Bash.
- Hands-on experience with cross-compilation toolchains targeting embedded Linux systems.
- Comfort working in an electronic lab and probing hardware with JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal analyzers.
- Experience reading schematics and datasheets, with strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred experience includes embedded software development for telecommunications carrier or enterprise products, ideally with internally developed SoCs.
- Preferred technologies include git, Rust, Golang, Bazel, Buildroot, gRPC, Protobuf, Zephyr, U-Boot, and ATF.
- Conceptual understanding of digital signal processing for wireless communications, including modulation, filtering, sampling, and baseband interfacing, is advantageous.
