Senior Software Engineer (Golang) - Remote

Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve BigCommerce’s Cloud Development Environment.
- Maintain Ruby services that orchestrate infrastructure.
- Contribute to a Golang CLI for managing developer environments.
- Use GCP, Nomad, Consul, Vault, Terraform, Packer, Puppet, and CircleCI to provide an effective development environment.
- Help engineers improve productivity and provide support for the development environment.
- Educate engineers on tooling and process improvements.
- Document technical features and user flows.
- Collaborate with a distributed global engineering team and assist with defining the team roadmap.
- Gather requirements from engineers and create and monitor statistics on tooling health and functionality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Completion of a comprehensive software engineering boot camp, or a CS, CE, SW, MIS, or equivalent degree, or relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of configuration management systems such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible; the team uses Puppet.
- Linux systems administration experience with solid Ruby and Bash scripting skills.
- Experience developing or scripting in Ruby or Golang and working with modern infrastructure tools and technologies.
- Ability to contribute to project discovery, design, and implementation while working across multiple projects.
- Fluent in English and able to submit a resume in English.
- Collaborative, proactive, results-oriented, and comfortable mentoring on an Agile team.
