Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize large-scale data pipelines and architectures supporting GitHub Copilot models, evaluation, and analytics.
- Develop and extend scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reliable ingestion, transformation, curation, and storage of high-volume data.
- Improve system availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance using modern engineering practices.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and live-site support.
- Participate in on-call rotations as a Designated Responsible Individual to monitor, troubleshoot, and restore data services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in C# or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: 3+ years developing scalable, multithreaded infrastructure or backend software with C#, Python, or a similar language.
- Preferred: 5+ years of professional software development experience in data processing systems and 2+ years developing data ETL and cloud services.
- Preferred: experience with software planning and delivery, data structures and algorithms, testing, debugging, experimentation systems, telemetry systems, AI services, model building, and 24/7 Azure-based services.
- Preferred: experience working with AI-assisted developer tools and a customer-focused approach.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $119,800–$234,700 per year; a separate range applies to the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position is open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until filled.
