Base Salary
$120k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design and development of reliable, scalable, and performant distributed software systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional partner teams to define requirements and deliver features.
- Write maintainable and testable code, participate in code reviews, and apply software engineering best practices.
- Identify and resolve production issues while continuously improving system performance and reliability.
- Translate business and partner requirements into technical specifications and lead implementation of complex distributed-system workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Coding experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Experience with large-scale system architecture, design, development, testing, and release, including web applications, layered microservices, database design, API design, performance tuning, and telemetry analysis.
- Ability to design complex distributed-system workflows, identify dependencies, align partner and product teams, and lead implementation.
- Experience with agentic systems such as ChatGPT or Claude.
- Knowledge of architectural patterns for high-scale applications and strong foundations in data structures, algorithms, coding, testing, debugging, and analytical problem-solving.
- Preferred alternatives include a master’s degree with 6+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to pass Microsoft-required security screening, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Benefits
- Employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated U.S. Microsoft office, or a 25-mile commute of a designated non-U.S. location, are expected to work from the office at least four days per week beginning January 26, 2026, subject to local law and jurisdiction.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and additional compensation.
