Base Salary

$175k - $230k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own the reliable operation of algorithmic trading and sequencer-based platforms across production and UAT environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex trading and production issues involving internal services, market centers, network paths, and external vendors.
  • Perform release and configuration management, including binary deployments and coordinated infrastructure changes.
  • Define, implement, and promote SRE best practices across the team.
  • Build automation, scripting, tooling, and workflow improvements to eliminate manual operational toil.
  • Conduct incident analytics and drive proactive detection, prevention, capacity, performance, and stability improvements.
  • Review system performance, stability, and operational metrics with stakeholders.
  • Support client onboarding, FIX certifications, and API documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, infrastructure, and product teams to develop technical solutions.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability across environments.
  • Conduct system performance analysis and build test harnesses.
  • Mentor peers and junior engineers and contribute to internal and external technical communities.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback into the platform roadmap and overall technical direction.

Requirements

  • Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python.
  • Proficiency with shell scripting, including bash or ksh.
  • Experience with JVM-based distributed applications and Linux systems.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, such as with Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of FIX protocol, FIX connectivity workflows, and client onboarding processes.
  • Understanding of market data, exchange protocols, messaging middleware, and data distribution.
  • Experience with containerized applications and AWS services.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools and related best practices.
  • Strong commitment to automating the full software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to use GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted code reviews.
  • Knowledge of electronic trading, including equities and FX, ECNs, dark pools, equity market structure, and fixed-income trading protocols; Spot FX is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and incident-resolution skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to remain effective in high-pressure trading environments.
  • Collaborative, personable, detail-oriented, and organized, with strong project execution abilities.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
