Responsibilities
- Own and lead architectural direction across Showpad’s multi-product portfolio, including target-state architecture and modernization roadmaps.
- Chair the Architecture Review Board and establish architecture standards, reference architectures, decision records, and review cadence.
- Embed in complex development efforts, guiding architecture and design through execution rather than handing off documentation.
- Represent Showpad’s technology to customers and prospects through architecture, security, and AI discussions.
- Lead multi-year modernization and transformation of complex legacy products while managing delivery risk.
- Recommend staffing, sourcing, team topology, build-versus-buy decisions, and skill-mix models to the CTO.
- Establish guardrails and observability for AI inference, AI-assisted development, and cloud operating costs.
- Set standards for technically rigorous, business-aware engineering decisions focused on quality, cost, time-to-value, and customer outcomes.
Requirements
- 15+ years of industry experience with substantial depth in B2B SaaS.
- Experience leading architecture and development for large-scale, multi-tenant, security- and compliance-sensitive enterprise products.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native SaaS architectures across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
- Experience establishing architecture practices such as RFCs, ADRs, and design reviews across multi-team engineering organizations.
- Track record delivering significant technical transformation or modernization in a matrix organization through influence rather than direct authority.
- Direct management experience leading teams of 10–25 people while remaining hands-on and technically current.
- Demonstrated experience designing and shipping AI-centric systems in production.
- Hands-on depth across generative AI, foundation-model selection, RAG, retrieval architecture, embeddings, vector stores, agentic patterns, tool use, orchestration frameworks, fine-tuning, evaluation, guardrails, and latency, quality, and cost trade-offs.
- Expert-level cloud architecture and operations, including infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines, containers, orchestration, observability, resilience, and multi-region design.
- Expertise in AI inference and token economics, AI-assisted development costs, and cloud operational spend.
- Experience in B2B SaaS, multi-tenant platforms, or sales enablement/GTM technology is desirable.
- Platform or developer-experience engineering background, open-source contributions, public technical writing, and familiarity with security-by-design, SOC 2, and compliance-aware architecture are desirable.
