Base Salary
$120k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate distributed services and microservices on Azure for catalog, search, purchase, fulfillment, metering, and billing experiences.
- Own software features through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and live-site support.
- Build platform capabilities for offer publishing, catalog, search, purchase, fulfillment, metering, and billing.
- Integrate natural language processing, semantic search, and intelligent-agent capabilities using Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent tools.
- Improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency through telemetry, asynchronous I/O, and system profiling.
- Implement data validation and schema enforcement while meeting privacy and security standards.
- Lead design discussions, collaborate across disciplines, review designs, and deliver production-grade software.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations, resolve live-site incidents, and implement root-cause fixes that improve reliability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, telemetry, and safe deployment practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with one or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check and meet applicable Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.
- Preferred experience includes 3–5 years of software engineering in cloud-scale or AI-enhanced services.
- Proficiency in C#, Python, or JavaScript and familiarity with Azure or AWS.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL data stores, distributed systems, data structures, algorithms, debugging, and large-scale cloud services.
- Experience with AI development tools, OpenAI APIs, transformers, semantic search, LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, agent frameworks, or model fine-tuning.
- Experience with Kubernetes, event-driven architectures, high-throughput data pipelines, commerce, billing, or marketplace systems.
- Understanding of GitHub workflows, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring, alerting, incident response, and SRE practices.
- Ability to lead design efforts and produce design documents, postmortems, and customer-facing release notes.
