Base Salary
$126k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with machine learning, search, product, data, and frontend teams to identify infrastructure needs, influence the roadmap, and execute projects.
- Build and enhance foundational infrastructure including distributed key-value and schema-less data stores, authentication and authorization, event streaming, configuration management, rate limiting, circuit breaking, feature flags, A/B testing, and traffic capture and replay.
- Improve system observability and reliability through distributed logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting infrastructure.
- Define performance methodologies and metrics, identify bottlenecks, and improve application performance and scalability.
- Deliver deadline-sensitive work that is interdependent with other engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and programming fundamentals in at least one backend language such as Java, Go, Python, or C++.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and services, request and response handling, error handling, and distributed service architecture.
- Understanding of concurrency, networking, scalability, caching, messaging, containers, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with open-source technologies such as Kafka, Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, and Istio is preferred.
- Ability to think critically about integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
- Curiosity and desire to learn.
