Responsibilities
- Define and execute end-to-end quality engineering strategies combining automated and manual testing.
- Design and maintain scalable Playwright and TypeScript automation frameworks for functional, regression, integration, cross-browser, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop RestAssured API automation suites covering contract, functional, error-handling, and integration scenarios.
- Configure, manage, and optimize Jenkins pipelines for build validation, automated testing, and reporting.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers to refine requirements into test conditions and scenarios.
- Perform root-cause analysis of defects and production incidents and convert findings into improvements.
- Implement and monitor quality metrics including defect leakage, test coverage, and pipeline stability.
- Create test data management strategies that support repeatable execution without exposing sensitive data.
- Define approaches for performance, reliability, and compatibility testing in partnership with specialized teams.
- Guide peers and junior engineers through code reviews, test design, and automation best practices.
- Incorporate utilities-domain regulatory, safety, and reliability expectations into test strategies when applicable.
- Maintain test plans, execution reports, and risk assessments and facilitate quality checkpoints for distributed teams.
Requirements
- 13–15 years of hands-on quality engineering experience focused on automation strategies for complex distributed applications.
- Advanced proficiency with Playwright and TypeScript for automated web application testing, including cross-browser and end-to-end validation.
- Strong expertise creating and maintaining RestAssured API test suites.
- Deep practical knowledge of Jenkins configuration, pipeline as code, job orchestration, version-control integration, and test reporting.
- Ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English with global technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilities-domain experience is preferred, particularly experience incorporating regulatory, safety, and reliability requirements into testing.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and hybrid delivery practices.
- Experience mentoring quality engineers in automation practices, clean code, and defect prevention while remaining hands-on.
