Senior Software Engineer
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, integration, tuning, and delivery of advanced power systems application software.
- Develop and maintain application functionality, including code fixes, model-conversion tools, documentation, and user interfaces.
- Collaborate with electric utilities, ISOs, transmission system operators, customers, product teams, solution providers, and cross-functional teams.
- Provide power systems domain knowledge and technical leadership to application software engineers.
- Estimate budgets for project tasks and support project delivery commitments.
- Apply software security, scalability, testing, test automation, and software development practices.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous process and technology improvements.
- Support proposals and demonstrations for potential customers.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Power Systems.
- 4–6 years of experience in development or project delivery involving power systems analysis, C++, CIM modeling, energy management systems, data analysis, scripting, or systems integration.
- Experience in the power systems domain and proficiency in testing and test automation.
- Strong knowledge of source control management, particularly GitHub.
- Ability to define requirements, collaborate on technical solutions, learn new development practices and tools, and communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to produce professional and technical reports, conduct presentations, prioritize work, and mentor newer team members.
