Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction for translating business requirements into logical program designs and enterprise software solutions.
- Lead development of resilient, scalable, maintainable integrated applications that meet architectural standards.
- Personally develop complex code modules and deliver stable, integrated enterprise software systems.
- Resolve complex problems across multiple applications and lead projects with significant business implications.
- Drive operational excellence through disaster recovery, capacity planning, performance, regression and chaos testing, observability, reliability processes, and recovery runbooks.
- Define and promote engineering standards for code quality, test coverage, security, authentication and authorization, compliance, validation, and AI output oversight.
- Design AI-enabled SDLC automation and reusable, version-controlled agentic workflows integrated with engineering tools.
- Mentor engineers, lead teams, run AI proofs of concept, and convert successful experiments into shared engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product, UX, data, architecture, and operational partners across the Merch Execution portfolio.
Requirements
- At least 9 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education where applicable.
- At least 6 years of experience across software engineering competencies including backend and frontend technologies, middleware, APIs, database technologies, and DevOps.
- At least 7 years of experience implementing solutions through iterative Agile development lifecycles.
- At least 7 years of experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience with ReactJS and TypeScript.
- At least 6 years of systems analysis experience, including defining technical requirements and performing high-level design for complex solutions.
- At least 6 years of experience with three or more areas including continuous integration/continuous deployment tools, frontend technologies, middleware, database technologies, and DevOps.
- At least 4 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports.
- Experience designing systems that integrate agents, RAG, workflows, and AI-assisted development across the software lifecycle.
- Experience creating reusable AI skills through approved integrations rather than relying only on one-off prompts.
