Responsibilities
- Define the vision for backend infrastructure supporting the developer platform and APIs and guide execution.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure, APIs, and services.
- Lead and contribute to system design discussions, stand-ups, and code reviews.
- Own backend infrastructure best practices focused on high throughput, reliability, and low latency.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Collaborate with engineers, technical leaders, product managers, and designers.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining core backend software components; API platform experience is a plus.
- Ability to solve complex design, scaling, latency, and performance problems in high-throughput, low-latency production systems.
- Production experience with Java, Golang, or C++.
- Experience in cloud-native environments, particularly AWS.
- Experience with managed Kubernetes layers such as AWS EKS is a plus.
- Ability to execute ideas autonomously and balance technical perfection with shipping quickly.
