Responsibilities
- Embed with public safety agencies to understand their missions, workflows, systems, and operational priorities.
- Translate customer problems into technical requirements, success criteria, and build opportunities.
- Build applications, dashboards, workflows, automations, and extensions using Axon products and approved tools.
- Apply software engineering fundamentals including APIs, scripting, data structures, testing, debugging, and version control.
- Test, iterate, deploy, document, and improve solutions alongside end users while measuring adoption and operational value.
- Serve as an onsite technical resource and coordinate complex needs across Product, Engineering, Support, Deployment, Training, Mission Operations, Mission Success, and Sales.
- Capture recurring customer needs and share reusable solutions, lessons, and platform feedback across Axon.
Requirements
- Typically 3–5+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software engineering, systems, technical consulting, implementation engineering, or another hands-on technical role.
- Demonstrated ability to build technical solutions using foundational software engineering concepts.
- Working knowledge of APIs, scripting or programming, data, testing, debugging, and modern development practices.
- Understanding of AI concepts and practical applications, with the ability to responsibly use AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems, learn emerging platforms quickly, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-facing curiosity and ability to understand how organizations operate.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance, satisfy applicable agency background requirements, and maintain the required onsite presence.
- Preferred experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, cloud platforms, modern frameworks, AI platforms, workflow automation, low-code development, data, or public safety and other mission-critical environments.
