Base Salary
$102k - $261k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead design and code reviews across feature areas and participate throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Design, build, validate, deploy, monitor, and support production-quality cloud infrastructure features end to end.
- Develop Kubernetes-based infrastructure platforms, resilient microservices, and operational tooling for Azure Monitor.
- Improve Kubernetes operational patterns including service-to-service communication, workload placement, traffic management, and resiliency.
- Partner with infrastructure, observability, and platform teams to align dependencies, ownership, and supportability.
- Deploy and operate infrastructure across Azure regions while improving reliability, security, networking, diagnosability, and cost efficiency.
- Participate in live-site support and apply AI-assisted and AI-agentic capabilities safely to infrastructure operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree plus 6+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native infrastructure, distributed systems, or large-scale production services is preferred.
- Experience improving reliability, security, observability, networking, or operational excellence for live services is preferred.
- Experience partnering across teams to deliver infrastructure capabilities with clear ownership and supportability is preferred.
- Experience with C#, Java, C++, Go, Python, or similar programming languages is preferred.
- Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer and every two years thereafter is required.
Benefits
- The typical U.S. base pay ranges are listed separately for Software Engineering IC3 and IC4, with different ranges for the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area.
- The position is open for a minimum of five days and accepts applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
