Responsibilities
- Design and build the core backend of Cohesity Data Platform and Cohesity SpanFS.
- Develop massively distributed, highly available systems operating across thousands of nodes.
- Work on distributed filesystems, object storage, replication, disaster recovery, snapshots, deduplication, compression, and multiple storage protocols.
- Apply multithreading, concurrency, parallel processing, and performance optimization techniques.
- Debug, diagnose, and troubleshoot complex production-grade software.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and solve complex large-scale engineering problems.
- Develop software in C++ for Linux and Windows platforms.
- Use JIRA, GitHub, and Testrail.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in filesystem development.
- Expert-level programming and debugging skills in C++.
- Experience with large-scale, highly available distributed systems and large-scale engineering challenges.
- Strong understanding of multithreading, concurrency, parallel processing, system performance, and scaling.
- Hands-on experience with replication and disaster recovery.
- Experience with NAS protocols and technologies such as SMB, CIFS, NFS, S3, NAS, and filers.
- Familiarity with distributed filesystems and object storage is highly valued.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and troubleshoot production-grade software.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity, workflows, and decision-making.
