Software Engineer II, IQ Grow
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable solutions for restaurant guest experiences.
- Ship features end to end from design through rollout, monitoring and iterating based on real-world use.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Use AI-assisted development tools and LLM-based agents to improve development workflows and productivity.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-ownership engineering team and support collective success.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of Kotlin or Java experience delivering impactful products.
- Ability to read and integrate with frontend applications and willingness to work across the stack when needed.
- Interest in AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents such as Claude Code.
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguity and deliver usable software incrementally.
- Strong software development fundamentals, including code quality, unit testing, and clean code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
- Curiosity, adaptability, a growth mindset, and interest in developing broader ownership.
