Responsibilities
- Map high-value workflows, including data flows, decision points, handoffs, and bottlenecks.
- Identify automation opportunities and build business cases based on time saved, revenue impact, or cost reduction.
- Design future-state workflows with appropriate agents, deterministic applications, human checkpoints, context, and safety guardrails.
- Build and ship production workflows and internal tools used daily by business teams.
- Connect APIs, CLIs, MCP servers, spreadsheets, data warehouses, workflow orchestration systems, databases, and other business tools.
- Create human-in-the-loop interfaces where appropriate and write clean, maintainable code.
- Own agents and applications in production by monitoring performance, tracking KPIs, and explaining outcomes to stakeholders.
- Manage evaluations and regression testing after model updates, prompt changes, or upstream data shifts.
- Continuously improve workflow performance and document reusable patterns, playbooks, and runbooks.
- Teach teams to identify automation opportunities and increase AI adoption and compute fluency.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to map and redesign real-world business processes with automation.
- Technical fluency connecting systems through APIs, CLIs, MCP, databases, and workflow orchestration.
- Ability to judge when to use LLM-powered agents versus deterministic applications or scripts.
- Strong foundation in at least one programming language such as TypeScript, Python, or Kotlin, with the ability to build full-stack when needed.
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs, including structured outputs, evaluation frameworks, error handling, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Operational maturity in monitoring, measuring, iterating, and documenting production systems.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills for interviewing stakeholders, presenting business cases, and explaining technical tradeoffs.
- Familiarity with current agentic and applied AI capabilities from Anthropic, OpenAI, Vercel, OpenClaw, and others is preferred.
- A portfolio of deployed agent-powered workflows or internal tools is preferred.
- Understanding of Git, version control workflows, and basic security and safety practices for production AI deployments is preferred.
- Experience writing about Applied AI is preferred.
- Experience working with operations, finance, marketing, or another business function is preferred.
- Experience teaching non-technical people to use AI tools effectively is preferred.
