Base Salary
$207k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive long-term engineering strategy for YouTube Ads surfaces, incorporating business priorities and new AI capabilities.
- Own major technical decisions involving design tradeoffs, system health, long-term strategy, and risk management.
- Identify system hotspots and make investments that improve technical health, productivity, and feature throughput.
- Coach and mentor current and emerging technical leaders through direct and scalable initiatives.
- Collaborate across teams, quality, and client infrastructure groups to build consistent features across surfaces while balancing platform constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 7 years of experience leading technical project strategy, ML design, and optimizing ML infrastructure, including model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, and fine-tuning.
- 5 years of experience with software design and architecture, testing, and product launches.
- Experience working within Ads.
- Experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques such as Large Language Models, multimodal systems, or Large Vision Models, or with language modeling and computer vision concepts.
- Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience leading full-stack engineering, distributed systems, or quality teams and scaling architecture.
- Preferred: ability to anticipate and mitigate obstacles in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
- Preferred: exceptional communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional directors and leaders.
Benefits
- US base salary of $207000 - $300000, plus a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
