Responsibilities
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, review, and debug secure, high-quality production software.
- Manage delivery for two scrum teams while serving as a hands-on coding technical lead at least 50% of the time.
- Drive adoption, governance, validation standards, and reuse of approved AI-assisted engineering practices and automation.
- Improve application and system stability by identifying and automating recurring issue remediation.
- Evaluate architectural designs and technical capabilities from vendors, startups, and internal teams.
- Lead software engineering communities of practice focused on new and emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
- Advanced Java and Spring Boot programming experience, including 10+ years of Java development experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, automation, continuous delivery, SDLC practices, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
- Experience with high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems and system integration.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, security controls, and coaching senior engineers on compliant usage.
- Preferred knowledge of reactive programming, on-premises or public cloud environments, and Cockroach or Cassandra distributed databases.
