Responsibilities
- Enhance Kubernetes-based cluster platforms for performance, scalability, resilience, and global resource management.
- Design and maintain unified scheduling for containers, virtual machines, online services, offline computing, AI/ML workloads, and CPU/GPU workloads.
- Develop intelligent scheduling systems that optimize workload performance and resource utilization across heterogeneous resources and global data centers.
- Design and drive compute platforms for reliable and cost-effective ML and LLM training and inference.
- Write high-quality maintainable code and contribute to advances in open-source infrastructure, AI, ML, systems, and Serverless technologies.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related area with 3+ years of relevant industry experience; a Ph.D. with strong publication records may be an exception.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, high-performance networking systems, or large-scale software systems.
- Experience designing, architecting, and building cloud or ML infrastructure involving resource management, allocation, job scheduling, or monitoring.
- Familiarity with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
- Experience with large-scale cluster management, resource efficiency management, job scheduling, application scaling, workload co-location, or isolation enhancement is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and their ML services is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering teams are preferred.
