Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of on-premises and hybrid network environments to AWS.
- Design multi-account VPC strategies, subnet segmentation, routing, NAT, internet gateways, load balancing, and Transit Gateway architectures.
- Implement hybrid connectivity using Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, and BGP routing.
- Plan migration risks, rollback strategies, phased cutovers, and post-migration cost, latency, and availability optimization.
- Define security policies using Security Groups, network ACLs, AWS Network Firewall, third-party firewalls, inspection VPCs, centralized egress, SCPs, and IAM boundaries.
- Design, operate, scale, upgrade, and patch production Amazon EKS clusters across multiple clusters and environments.
- Optimize Kubernetes cluster networking, VPC CNI, IP management, prefix delegation, subnet sizing, ingress, services, network policies, and DNS.
- Manage EKS node lifecycle, taints and tolerations, capacity planning, IRSA, Karpenter, Cluster Autoscaler, HPA, PDBs, and workload resilience patterns.
- Support application teams migrating workloads to Kubernetes and troubleshoot pod-to-pod and cross-cluster communication.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform, implement GitOps workflows with Argo CD, build CI/CD pipelines, enforce policy-as-code with Kyverno, and develop Python or Go automation scripts.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience is required; the detailed qualifications specify 6–9 years in AWS infrastructure, networking, and cloud migrations.
- Strong expertise in AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, enterprise networking, BGP, routing, firewalls, and network segmentation.
- Strong production experience designing and operating Amazon EKS clusters, including scaling, networking optimization, and Kubernetes networking internals.
- Strong Terraform expertise, including module design and remote state management.
- Experience implementing GitOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Scripting experience with Python or Go.
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.
- 15 years of full-time education is required.
