Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Python software that deploys, configures, and validates Nutanix private and hybrid cloud environments.
- Develop agentic workflows using prompt engineering, agent skills, tool definitions, guardrails, and evaluation harnesses.
- Determine which workflows belong in deterministic code versus agent-based automation.
- Build and operate containerized cloud-native workloads, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code automation.
- Automate validation, identify regressions before release, analyze failures, determine root causes, and drive fixes to closure.
- Use agentic coding tools and help improve the team’s engineering practices as the tooling evolves.
- Demo technical work to Solutions Architects, product teams, customers, and senior stakeholders.
- Write usable documentation and engage with customers and support teams on production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience building production software, with substantial depth in at least one role.
- Required production-grade Python experience and the ability to own a Python codebase used by others.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic tooling, including prompt engineering, agent skills or tool definitions, and testing and evaluating non-deterministic systems.
- Strong object-oriented programming, algorithms, data structures, debugging, and problem-solving fundamentals.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, automated CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with a systems product such as storage, virtualization, networking, databases, or operating systems.
- Ability to debug complex distributed applications and communicate and present technical work to customers and senior stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with Golang, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Angular, Terraform, Ansible, Jira, GitHub, Artifactory, or modern CI systems.
- Platform engineering, SRE, or solutions architecture experience involving production code is preferred.
- Public evidence of technical work, such as GitHub projects, open-source contributions, or published technical writing, is preferred.
