Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including AI-assisted code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident or root-cause analysis.
- Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and AI-generated outputs.
- Use software development lifecycle toolchain capabilities and automation to improve engineering outcomes at scale.
- Drive decisions affecting product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide software development lifecycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages.
- Experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Practical cloud-native experience.
- Preferred background in data science, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, operations research, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, storytelling, and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with generative AI tools, prompt engineering, rapid prototyping, AI-enabled coding workflows, and experimentation with emerging technologies.
