Responsibilities

Design and deliver platform capabilities that provide low-latency access to operational data for real-time payments and other enterprise experiences.
Optimize read-path latency, scalability, resiliency, availability, and throughput across the platform.
Automate tenant provisioning, governance controls, and operational workflows to create self-service capabilities.
Evaluate technologies, validate solutions under production-scale workloads, and influence platform strategy and architectural decisions.
Build observability, resiliency, and recovery capabilities that improve service health and reduce operational risk.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams to document solutions, establish engineering standards, and drive outcomes across teams.

Proven experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
Hands-on expertise with distributed NoSQL databases and data-serving platforms, including data modeling, indexing strategies, and low-latency access patterns.
Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures, including streaming data pipelines, schema management, and operational troubleshooting.
Experience automating infrastructure and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code, continuous integration and continuous deployment, and cloud-native technologies.
Ability to influence technical decisions, solve complex challenges, document solutions clearly, collaborate effectively, and drive outcomes across teams.
Experience in payments, financial technology, or other regulated industries is a bonus.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, Apache Iceberg, or modern lakehouse architectures is a bonus.
Experience contributing to open-source data infrastructure projects or building managed database and streaming platform solutions is a bonus.
