Responsibilities
- Design and implement state estimation algorithms, including sensor fusion techniques for IMUs, GPS, cameras, and other onboard sensors.
- Develop real-time software to run estimation algorithms on embedded systems.
- Test and validate state estimation solutions in both simulated and real-world drone environments.
- Debug and improve estimation performance under challenging conditions such as sensor noise and environmental disturbances.
- Collaborate with autonomy, controls, and perception teams to integrate state estimation with navigation and flight systems.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in the field.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing state estimation algorithms for robotics, drones, or similar systems.
- Strong knowledge of sensor fusion techniques such as Kalman filters, extended Kalman filters (EKF), or particle filters.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or Python.
- Experience implementing algorithms on embedded systems or real-time platforms.
- Familiarity with sensor technologies like IMU, GPS, cameras, and lidar.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, particularly in linear algebra, probability, and optimization.
- Experience with simulation tools and frameworks (e.g., Gazebo, Mujoco, etc.).
