Responsibilities
- Design and evolve scalable, resilient backend services for high-traffic distributed systems.
- Own the software lifecycle from design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Lead technical initiatives through code reviews, mentoring, technical design discussions, and cross-team influence.
- Improve system reliability through observability, automation, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and architects to make technical decisions and deliver initiatives.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve engineering quality, and coach teammates.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of backend software engineering experience with strong Java expertise and ownership of complex production systems.
- Experience designing, building, and operating scalable microservices, SOA, or event-driven architectures in cloud environments.
- Hands-on AWS and cloud-native engineering experience, including load balancing, API gateways, resilience, observability, and container orchestration.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, influencing stakeholders, and driving alignment without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, sound technical judgment, and a demonstrated ability to deliver reliable software.
- Ability to use modern AI development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools and coach teammates in AI-assisted development.
