Responsibilities
- Design and implement core Apache Ozone features.
- Contribute to Apache Ratis, an open-source RAFT implementation.
- Contribute to the development of HDFS.
- Help build scalable distributed storage systems for large-scale data and cloud computing environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Strong backend engineering skills with expertise in Java, or strong C++ skills with intermediate Java skills.
- Hands-on programming experience and knowledge of data structures and computer science algorithms.
- Experience designing and developing system software with understanding of computer architecture, storage, networking, and I/O subsystems.
- Clean coding habits, attention to detail, quality focus, and strong oral and written communication.
- Preferred: experience with large-scale distributed systems, storage systems, performance tuning, Apache Hadoop, Apache Hadoop ecosystem projects, open-source contributions, and distributed consensus protocols such as Paxos or RAFT.
