Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, verify, deploy, and operationalize real-time services with high-throughput and low-latency requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand customer needs and deliver simple, robust, and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate through detailed technical writing with leads, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Scale and operate a globally distributed platform focused on availability, reliability, throughput, latency, and media fidelity.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, estimation, sprint planning, coding, testing, deployments, and on-call support.
  • Drive architectural decisions and cross-functional technical initiatives while mentoring team members.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of hands-on experience in large-scale distributed applications environments using JVM-based technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
  • Experience building RESTful services, designing APIs, and working with event-driven architectures including Kafka and SQS.
  • Experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with on-call rotations, incident response, and monitoring or alerting tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, OpenStack, or Azure.
  • Excellent written communication skills for technical documentation and AI prompting.
  • Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Strong hands-on Java experience, including architecture, code review, and debugging.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools.
  • Experience scaling data tiers using SQL/NoSQL databases and caching technologies.
  • Experience designing and developing horizontally scalable, resilient production backend systems.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architectural decisions, cross-functional initiatives, and mentoring.
  • Knowledge of SIP and Stir/Shaken protocols is desired.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective use of AI to deliver value efficiently is desired.
