Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable AI-forward APIs, MCPs, and services.
- Develop reusable, high-quality code for services and features.
- Lead feature development from concept through launch.
- Break down large work items into smaller tasks and provide accurate estimates.
- Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual for on-call monitoring and restoration of simple service or product issues.
- Improve reliability, performance, and scalability by staying current with relevant technologies.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Preferred: master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience shipping complex, enterprise-scale software with emphasis on reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Proficiency in a backend programming language such as Node.js, C#, or Java.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, API design, and microservices architecture.
- Experience with AI/ML concepts and their application in software development.
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with API design practices, protocols, and Microsoft Graph.
- Portfolio or open-source contributions demonstrating versatility across technologies, frameworks, or domains.

- Employees living within 50 miles of the Redmond campus must work in the office at least 3 days per week.
- The typical U.S. base pay range is USD $142,800–$274,800 per year; San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area locations have a separate range of USD $188,000–$304,200 per year.
- Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days and accept applications on an ongoing basis until filled.
