Base Salary
$143k - $304k/yr
Responsibilities
- Research new technical areas and write optimal production code.
- Enhance coding standards and deliver software through short, frequent release cycles.
- Design, build, and operate large-scale, highly available cloud services and distributed systems.
- Own production services, including on-call/live-site support, observability, root-cause analysis, and systemic improvements.
- Deliver cloud-native services with accountability for security, availability, reliability, latency, and cost objectives.
- Provide technical design, architecture, debugging, and cross-team engineering leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud Background Check and applicable customer or government security screening requirements.
- Preferred: master’s degree and 10+ years of technical engineering experience, or bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of SQL/NoSQL technologies and highly available database design.
- Preferred: 7+ years designing, building, and operating large-scale, highly available cloud services and distributed systems.
- Preferred: 5+ years owning production services, including on-call/live-site support, observability, root-cause analysis, and systemic improvements.
- Preferred: 5+ years delivering cloud-native services on Azure, AWS, or GCP using containers, microservices, and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Strong architecture, technical design, distributed systems, systems management, problem-solving, debugging, data structures, and algorithms skills.
- Experience with REST, Web APIs, and Go is beneficial.
